On June 5th, 2025, Age Green Campaign Initiative joined the global community in celebrating World Environment Day, with a vibrant and action-packed event in Abuja. The program, themed “War Against Plastic Pollution“, brought together volunteers, students, community leaders, and environmental partners to raise awareness and take direct action towards plastic pollution.
The celebration began on 4th June, 2025 with an early morning environmental sensitization/awareness program on plastic pollution, a live radio broadcast, with love FM. Mpape, Abuja. Also, a live TV broadcast in Aso TV, Katampe Abuja, was carried out, issues on the environmental menace caused by plastic pollution and its health implications, also the roles Federal Government need to play, like the implementation of the already existing environmental laws amongst others, were discussed extensively by Engr. Simeon Odo, the executive director, Age Green Campaign Initiative.


On June 5th, 2025, a special awareness walk was held by Age Green Campaign Initiative, with participants holding banners and sharing flyers bearing messages like;”Support Cleaner, Greener, and Eco-friendly Society”, “the Change begins with me.” Speeches by environmental advocates and the executive director of Age Green Campaign Initiative, emphasized the urgent need for proper waste management , especially plastic waste, due to it’s non-biodegradable nature, that allows it to exist in our environment for thousands of years.

A key highlight of the event was the interactive session with students and staff, an environmental sensitization/awareness held at Charles Ruth Academy Mpape, Abuja, where insights on plastic pollution, the general environment and proper waste management practices were shared , with plans of building environmental clubs for students, so as to create an environmental conscious citizens.
The event concluded with a promise by the Executive director, Age Green Campaign Initiative, Egr. Simeon Odo, promising to contribute it’s best, through the NGOs platforms and physical engagements, to adopt eco-friendly practices in daily life, thereby building a cleaner, greener and a better Nigeria. The Age Green Campaign Initiative (NGO), also have follow up plans, like frequent community outreach programs, school sensitization, creation of environmental clubs for students, recycling education series, amongst others.
